Job Details: Petroleum Engineer sought by Oilfield Data Services Inc.

Responsibilities include: Build well and reservoir models. Perform Wellbore Modeling using ODSI’s proprietary solution to the Bernoulli equation (mechanical energy balance) to accurately predict the pressure drop due to friction and head/gravity. The Wellbore Model can be used for both dynamic and static cases and accounts for how rate, temperature, composition, phase behavior, and coupled rate and thermal transients affect the system. This is more than just a nodal analysis style calculation, which are based on single point pressure, temperature, flow-rate, and fluid property values. Analyze Well Tests and Perform Production Decline Analysis.  Assist senior project engineers in evaluating Fractures and evaluating Completions. Calculate BHP and validate rates.  Prepare progress reports, project control documents and reports. Estimate oil and gas in-place and producible volumes and make recommendations about maximizing recovery and production from these reservoirs.  Identify reservoir boundaries and determine whether the type of boundary is fault, stratigraphic, or fluid contact to perform boundary volumetric calculations. Provide technical support to clients in the US who are either using our software and need any assistance with it or need the engineer to perform quick analyses related to oil and gas wells and reservoirs to help them make engineering decisions on-the-go to related to field operations and management decisions. Special requirements include knowledge of reservoir boundary analysis; proficiency in Microsoft excel; knowledge of in-place and producible hydrocarbon volume estimation; knowledge of pressure transient analysis; knowledge of aquifer size determination; understanding of wellbore and PVT model creation. Minimum education: master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field; minimum work experience: 6 months in Petroleum, Geoscientist, or related field.
