AUTOMATED REAL-TIME SURVEILLANCE (ARTS)
ODSI AUTOMATED REAL-TIME SURVEILLANCE (ARTS)
The rationale behind ARTS is simple: Take the things in the well/reservoir evaluation process that are time-consuming, tedious, subject to interpretation/model & correlation selection (and often cherry-picked), and then automate the processing and analysis in a consistent and transparent fashion. However, not every task can be automated, and not all automation will lead to the correct answer. There is no substitute for practical human experience.
The way ODSI provides meaningful results to our clients is to combine these automated processes with a dedicated reservoir/production surveillance engineer assigned to each well to explain, person to person, what it all means.
The computer’s job is to crunch the numbers. The engineer’s job is to present the results in a way that an engineer or asset manager can easily tell what’s happening to their well/reservoir.
ARTS: REAL-TIME REPORTING ON WELLS / FIELD KPIs
Physics + Automation + Experienced Surveillance Engineers
We focus on the well bore, the completion and the reservoir. The automated analysis recognizes whether there are any production impairments in the well-completion-reservoir system. In addition to presenting these KPIs, our PVT, 3-phase flow rate and pressure outputs, can then feed your flow assurance and facilities simulation tools to help optimize the entire production, processing and export system.
SEE WHAT ARTS CAN DO FOR YOU
- All wells: 3-phase rates and BHPs
- Oil wells: water cut & GOR
- Gas & G/C wells: water & condensate yield
- Injection wells: density/composition changes – scale deposition
- Recognize wellbore life issues and gas lift optimization
- Locate and track moving oil-water or gas-water contacts with time
- Calculate in-situ condensate drop-out curves
- Skin changes: fines, fluid invasion, scale, asphaltenes
- Perm changes: compaction, pay/zone loss, fill, asphaltenes
- Reservoir pressure changes: depletion, overpulling
- Wellbore performance changes: obstruction, waxing, scaling, inefficient lift, fluid column

ARTS & Well Analyzer (WA)
Well Analyzer works with real-time and historic data. The process data historian is shown at the center of the graphic below.
Data Flow & How ODSI ARTS Integrates with Your Environment
The tool polls the required tags from the process historian/database, performs calculations, and writes the results back to the process historian/database in real-time.
